Water for All in Uganda
In 2007 Italy’s Water for All chapter enlisted 118 employees to contribute EUR 7 808 (matched by the company, for a total of EUR 15 616 (SEK 146 276) to AMREF Italia ONLUS, a non-profit apolitical aid association founded in 1957 in Africa. The money financed the digging of three water wells in Uganda.
In 2008, 105 employees contributed a total of EUR 6 627 (SEK 62 083), which was matched by the company. AMREF used the money to dig another two wells in Uganda and contributed to a hydro-project in Kitui, Kenya, where they built a tank capable of collecting 6.7 square meters of water with seven kilometers of pipeline for four water kiosks in the area.
