Water for All in Mali
The Spain chapter of Water for All has recently completed a project in the rural community of Damina, Mali, with The Movement for Peace (MPDL), a non-governmental organization that works to combat poverty and social inequality in developing countries.
Damina is a small community of 2 000 people, but the new well also serves the Niaganés sanitary community of 10 000 people. As a result, 12 000 people now have access fresh drinking water that flows at a rate of 3.6 cubic meters per hour.
Instead of walking up to 10 kilometers to the nearest source of natural water, the population in this area now has access to the water they need for drinking, eating and ensuring good personal hygiene.
