Water for All in Sudan

The Swedish and Belgian Water for All chapters contributed money for the establishment of 10 water wells in Mugwo Payam, Yei-County in Sudan.

The Community Action Water Programme (CAWP), a Sudanese community-based organization working to provide safe water to communities throughout southern Sudan, organized the construction of the “springs.”
All ten of them have greatly improved the lives of the residents in these communities – in Yeiba, for example, women no longer need to travel to the marketplace carrying jerrycans for collecting water to use in food preparation. In Ayakupu, the new spring serving a school, a church, and a small trading center can fill a 20-liter jerrycan in 18 seconds.
