Automatic Monitoring and Extinguishing System
The AMES protection system uses smoke and heat detectors to release an extinguishing agent into the canopy of the diesel generator, diesel compressor, diesel welder or similar, thus smothering the source.
This Atlas Copco Rental designed ‘Automatic Monitoring and Extinguishing System’ (AMES) uses smoke and heat detectors via a voting system to firstly shutdown the engine / prime mover and then, when appropriate, extinguish the cause. Flame detectors and gas detectors may be used. The AMES control console has the facility to interface with any platform E.S.D. system thus enabling the facility to be activated remotely, if so desired. The total system is self contained within a robust IP54 cabinet with a shock proof viewing window, and a suitably constructed protection / lifting frame.
These systems have been solely designed for use on temporary equipments and are to be used in ‘un-zoned / safe areas’.
