New service depot opens in Zwijndrecht, Netherlands
Atlas Copco Rental Netherlands reinforces its existing depots with a new central service depot. Atlas Copco Rental already set foot in Leende, The Botlek (Rotterdam) and Twello. The location of the new depot is at the current premises of their Atlas Copco Compressors colleagues in Zwijndrecht, in the South Centre of the Netherlands.

The brand new central service depot is easily accessable and has a surface of 6.500m². It consists of
• Unique workshop of 1.500m²
• 5 "pit stop"-like work stations
• In house testing and controlling facilities for cables, air hoses and smaller electrical components
• Safe and fast logistic load and unload area/procedures
• Fast fuel handling with less risks of spillage during filling and emptening large fueltanks.
• Specific waste oil handling facilities
• Together with the specialists of other divisions it forms a central knowledge and competence center under one roof
• New national administrative center for rental

Knowledge and competence center under one roof
With around 500 rental items in the rental fleet and an average of 200 maintenance jobs per month, it was key to develop and organise a strict safe workshop planning and a very efficient way of moving the units around.
Reducing waste, for example by crushing used oil filters, is just one of the features they implemented to comply with ISO14001.
