What is the Atlas Copco Group’s stand?
Atlas Copco has taken a clear stand. In the Business Code of Practice, the Group has defined the scope of its responsibilities with regard to business ethics, as well as to social and environmental performance. Atlas Copco's brand promise Sustainable Productivity shows the Group commitment to sustainability.
Is there a set of rules or laws related to corporate responsibility?
There are a number of different voluntary international guidelines—e.g. the UN’s Global Compact—that society expects companies to follow. There is also national legislation, or business rules, on corporate responsibility in some countries.
Who are the Atlas Copco stakeholders?
Besides shareholders, customers, employees, and business partners, society is a very important stakeholder.
What is corporate responsibility?
Corporate responsibility is the management of a company’s impact on its stakeholders, including society and the environment.
Do we measure and report on our achievements?
Since 2001, Atlas Copco has published a Sustainability Report in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

A responsible company will in the long term generate more business opportunities and increase profitability. A view of corporate responsibility that goes beyond profitability will lead to increased trust in Atlas Copco and a stronger reputation.
Are corporate responsibility and sustainability the same thing?
No, but they are closely related. Corporate responsibility describes the areas to be managed by a corporation, while sustainability or sustainable development is the objective and part of a broader vision.
Besides the Sustainability Report, Atlas Copco has formal face-to-face meetings with stakeholders, including NGOs. All operations are encouraged to prepare and implement communication plans appropriate to their markets.
