As it is for most companies, a leading chemical manufacturing company wanted to avoid any risk of unproductive time.
Turnarounds are delicate projects where tests and repairs are being done on critical systems, and any simple error can lead to massive losses due to downtime.
The customer needed a total solution for emergency response. The answer was a compressed air system that would sustain harsh weather conditions and immediate responsiveness if the primary system failed.
The scenario presented a challenge with cold ambient conditions and the request for the solution to operate without any requirement for power from the facility, and that's where Atlas Copco Rental's build-on solution approach came in.
Due to the support of service, engineering, administrative, and sales staff from the Atlas Copco Specialty Rental in the northeast office, we offered a solution that guaranteed the immediate start-up of the setup in case of an emergency. The plant's turnaround was completed with not a minute to lose.
The build-on custom-fit solution included four PTS1600 diesel-driven oil-free air compressors and respective air dryers to reach a PDP of -40F. In addition, they had advanced batteries for the electrical equipment like the air dryer, heaters, and all necessary accessories like power cables, commissioning, and 24/7 support during the project, including a 3D visualization of the project.
