Primarily for embankments, sub bases and bases for roads, rail track and foundations for buildings.
COMPACTABILITY
Gravel and sand range in size from a hen’s egg down to 0.06 mm. The level of compaction depends on grading. Too much compaction can crush the material.
EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATION*
All of our machines work excellent on sand and gravel. Your choice of equipment depends on compaction and capacity requirements. Medium to heavy forward and reversible plates provide the best capacity and will achieve compaction on thick layers. Lighter vibratory compactors such as the LF80 forward plate give good compaction results on limited layer thicknesses and are easy to work with. All of our plates are fast and get the job done quickly.
