APPLICATION
Primarily for embankments for roads, rail tracks, trenches and backfills or sanitary landfill construction.
COMPACTABILITY
Silt is more difficult to compact due to cohesion and requires high compaction energy. The compaction effect depends largely on water content. In pure silt or where the silt is primarily mixed with other coarse-grained fractions, there is little cohesion.
EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATION*
With the exception of our rollers, we recommend all of our compaction equipment for silt from rammers with excellent compaction efficiency up to the heavier forward and reversible plates - LH700 and LH800 that provide the optimum compaction capacity for larger construction assignments.
