Atlas Copco launches an improved 10t underground loader - the Scooptram® ST1030
An improved electrical system, an EPA Tier 3 diesel engine and a new instrument panel represent the major improvements being incorporated in Atlas Copco’s new front end loader; the Scooptram® ST1030. This new model, replacing the ST1020, is the latest member of the ST10X0 progression. A large number of design changes have been made to keep this 10 metric tonnes capacity loader at top production levels in medium to large sized underground operations.
“-The reduction of downtime due to electric failures in the electrical system has resulted in a further increase of machine productivity”.
Another service friendly change is the new display panel, which replaces the previous gauge cluster arrangement. The new instrument panel features an integrated warning system and an engine fault code display. The system also indicates when it is time to change the air filters.
Change of engine
Two vehicles have been in operation for more than 2 200 hours each. Comments from the Jacobina Mine in Brazil include more power, lower fuel consumption, less noise and emissions and a higher availability. Cummins is a major engine supplier with a worldwide sales and service network. As part of an agreement between Cummins and Atlas Copco, Cummins will provide “Limited Repairer” level training to Atlas Copco service personnel at Customer Centres located throughout the world.
