AutoControl

AutoControl has been boosting the productive performance of hydraulic breakers since 1999 - as standard for heavy breakers, and for medium-weight breakers over a service weight of 1000 kilos.

AutoControl automatically controls the breaker to suit the working conditions and rock hardness, so creating the perfect conditions for users: maximum blow frequency for soft materials, maximum single-blow energy when it gets tough.

With its objective of maximum demolition performance, the AutoControl System from Atlas Copco demonstrates its strengths: maximum efficiency and reliability!

How it functions

AutoControl keeps single-blow energy and blow rate efficiently in proportion so as to achieve maximum blow performance – completely automatically. With each blow the consistency of the material is diagnosed and the stroke length of the piston is adjusted if necessary.

If there is a no-load blow, the next blow automatically uses a reduced piston stroke length (and therefore reduced single-blow energy) to minimise the strain on the operator and on the machine.

When the breaker is switched on, the first blow is always at reduced single-blow energy, to test the hardness of the rock and position the bit better on the material (centring effect). If the bit is on the material, the first blow also expels soft material – so that the next blow encounters solid material with maximum single-blow energy.

In addition a pilot valve constantly ensures accurate adjustment of the control under the most diverse operating conditions – regardless of operating temperature. This energy recovery enables greater performance and efficiency that are manifestly obvious when used on in hard material.

Use

AutoControl is available as standard in our heavy range and in the medium-weight range from MB 700/1000. The benefits can be seen in use anywhere, whether for working boulders, for direct extraction, or for demolition: productivity is increased, and the strain from no-load strokes is reduced.

The Advantages:

  • ensures consistently high productivity by adjusting single-blow energy and blow rate from the first blow
  • helps to protect both the breaker and carrier unit on no-load strokes
  • raises efficiency with energy recovery
  • precise control of piston movement under the most diverse working conditions
  • minimises tendency to no-load strokes in soft material
  • always starts with reduced single-blow energy
  • easy handling with “centring” of the material
