Walter Wehtje succeeded Gunnar Jacobsson in 1940.
This initiated an era of intensive concentration on compressed air products and on international marketing.
He represented a new kind of leadership in what had hitherto been a technology-dominated company. Previously head of a department store in Stockholm, he was a businessman brought up in sales and marketing.
Walter Wehtje was President between 1940 and 1957. He was succeeded by
