PT Atlas Copco Nusantara completes integration with new name

2012-12-19

November 2012 marked a historical moment for Atlas Copco Group as Indonesian subsidiary PT Fluidcon completed its two-year integration process.

Atlas Copco Indonesia - name changing
In 2008 Sweden-based Atlas Copco, an industrial group that manufactures compressors, power tools, construction, and mining and rock excavation equipment, acquired Indonesia-based PT Fluidcon Jaya for its strength in providing service for mining equipment. The bid would position Atlas Copco and its mining equipment nearer to Indonesia, a world-leading producer of coal and minerals.

The first three years Atlas Copco ran the two business units separately. In January 2011 the Group began a transformation process to create a single entity first called PT Atlas Copco Fluidcon. And now a final change of the company’s name to PT Atlas Copco Nusantara signals process completion, honoring Fluidcon’s Indonesian legacy.

It’s more than just a change of name, however. Rebranding Fluidcon is part of a strategic plan to strengthen the presence of the Atlas Copco Group with customers in the mining and construction fields. Those customers work at everything from water well drilling, oil and gas drilling, and exploration drilling to underground mining and surface mining. Atlas Copco creates innovative products and provides service for success in all of these business areas. The principal product development and manufacturing facilities are located in Sweden, the United States, Canada, China and India.

Robin Stephens, Director of Altas Copco Nusantara, said, “The change in the company’s name is the final stage of integrating Fluidcon into the Atlas Copco family. Our customers are looking forward to seeing the new Atlas Copco Nusantara brand in Indonesia.”
