New range of Atlas Copco gensets especially for Africa & the Middle East
Atlas Copco has launched its new QUB range of generating sets with LTP ratings 25-143 kVA at 50Hz; the sets, all powered by Deutz air-cooled diesel engines, offer a no-nonsense complement to the existing QAS and QIX ranges.
Newly Up-Graded UK Factory
The QUB generating sets are the first Atlas Copco designed products to come out of the Masons factory in the United Kingdom which Atlas Copco acquired in 2001. Assembled on a newly installed flow-line and up-graded test facility according to ISO8528-5 procedures, the QUB is the result of a combination of Masons’ traditional strengths in serving power generation customers in Africa and the Middle East with Atlas Copco’s renowned engineering and manufacturing excellence.
Designed for Africa and the Middle East
High durability, easy maintenance and an ability to operate in high ambient temperatures were the main features of the brief given to the Atlas Copco engineers. Careful selection of the performance components was essential to achieving this brief and main suppliers were involved in the project from the earliest design phases. Anticipating high running hours in remote locations a highly standardised design concept was part of the thinking from the start, bringing with it assurances of high quality manufacturing and simplified field support. Developed and proved against Atlas Copco’s rigorous New Product Development procedures the QUB is a right-first-time classic design which is set to be a winner.
