Atlas Copco remains on Global 100 list of world’s most sustainable companies

Stockholm, Sweden, January 28, 2010: For the fifth consecutive year, Atlas Copco has been named one of the world’s most sustainable companies.

The Global 100 list of the world’s most sustainable corporations was announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this week. This year’s list includes companies from 24 countries encompassing all sectors of the economy. Since the 2009 ranking, only 50% of listed companies remained on the Global 100.
In addition to social indicators such as diversity of board directors, the 2010 Global 100 established and measured companies against an objective ‘sustainable path’ standard for energy, carbon, water, and waste ratios. The ambition is to show investors which companies stand out from their peers in terms of sustainability, helping them to attract capital.
“We believe the sustainable development of Atlas Copco will benefit all our stakeholders,” says Annika Berglund, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications. “When we say we are committed to sustainable productivity, it means that we do everything we can to ensure reliable, lasting results with a responsible use of resources; human, natural, and capital.”
