Atlas Copco’s Portable Energy division will unveil an array of new equipment at Bauma 2016 to advance the speed, efficiency and reliability of operations in construction, mining and other industries. At the forefront of the new launches will be the 8 Series compressor, the most exciting addition to Atlas Copco’s small air portfolio in a decade. This new model sets new standards in almost every category, from size and weight to efficiency and performance. A highly-anticipated feature of the 8 Series compressor will be the latest iteration of the HardHat canopy, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2015. First launched in 2005 to replace traditional metal canopies with a lighter and more durable medium-density polyethylene version, the award-winning HardHat set a new international benchmark for protective hoods.

Visitors to Bauma 2016 can also expect to see an extension to the QES range of generators specifically aimed at construction and rental markets. The QES range incorporates all of the additional benefits that customers have come to expect from Atlas Copco’s power solutions portfolio and will appeal to customers across global markets.
The extension and expansion of dewatering solutions will also feature strongly, with Atlas Copco showcasing exciting additions to its WEDA electrical product range, as well as highlighting products that will now be available as the Varisco line, following the completion of the company’s acquisition in January 2016.
Lighting solutions are another important component of the Portable Energy division’s product offering. Atlas Copco will officially launch the HiLight range, which consists of seven models to ensure customers can select the right light for their site. Visitors to the show can expect to see a number of new innovations, such as the latest in LED lighting, as well as understanding how incorporating the latest technology has enhanced energy efficiency, portability and safety.
Peter Lauwers, President of Atlas Copco’s Portable Energy division, said: “Our commitment to continuous innovation is at the core of our business philosophy. As a group, Atlas Copco invests approximately three per cent of total revenues – around €300m – into research and development annually, and the Portable Energy division is one of the most active in terms of product development. Our innovation cycle is geared towards Bauma, and the full results of that work will be on show. We will be revealing new additions across all product groups, 2016 promises to be one of the most exciting years in recent history.”
Atlas Copco has been a global leader in portable energy for almost 150 years. Its commitment to innovation is focused on the development of equipment that is easy to move, reduces fuel costs, cuts down on CO2 emissions and saves money on site. In the process, Atlas Copco has won numerous design awards.
It’s about looking ahead and staying ahead, in order to help our customers do the same,” added Peter Lauwers. “Any product a customer chooses from us will enhance the productivity of their business at the lowest cost of ownership over its lifetime. That is our commitment to customers.”
