The Atlas Copco Hurricane screw booster is oil-lubricated and consists of a single-stage screw compressor and a three-stage booster. The complete unit is installed on a strong steel base skid with built-in protection frame. The air-cooled versions are powered by an industrial Caterpillar engine. They can be used for multiple oil & gas applications such as onshore pipeline testing. The water-cooled versions are powered by a Caterpillar marine diesel engine. They are designed exclusively for air gun shooting in offshore seismic exploration. Constructed from genuine, high-quality parts, Hurricane screw boosters offer user-friendliness, easy serviceability, and economical operation to ensure best-in-class cost of ownership.

Customer benefits

  • Cost saving – Light weight and small footprint reduce transport and installation costs. A pressure regulating system with automatic load/unload valve lowers your overall fuel consumption.
  • User-friendly and safe – The user friendly control system includes all relevant read-outs, safeties and shutdowns. Safety valves protect your equipment at all times.
  • Durability – Superior anti-corrosion protection is provided by stainless steel hardware, offshore finish coatings, special paints and sealers.
  • Optimal performance – The pre-cooler and intercoolers with scrubber tank ensure optimal performance and reliability in hot and humid ambient conditions; the pre-cooler bypass valve ensures performance at low temperatures.
  • High uptime – Genuine components and easy maintenance access reduce service downtime.
