Three big product launches from Atlas Copco Secoroc at Intermat

2003-02-28

At this year’s Intermat Expo, Atlas Copco Secoroc will be showcasing three brand new products over and above its already extensive range of rock drilling tools. <BR>

A magnum of benefits
Among the products to be shown for the first time is a range of drifting, tunneling and rock bolting solutions – dubbed Magnum SR32. Following the successful launch in 2002 of SR35 and SR28, the new SR32 has been optimized for today’s uncompromising tunneling and mining applications. As the replacement for the R28, the new SR32 system is ideal for modern powerful drill rigs and the high tempo that’s typical of today’s underground drilling operations. The secret? A unique design that will allow drillers to drill more and straighter holes than ever before. They can also look forward to a significant increase in service life.

What comes after Premium?
We’re also unveiling a new range of Premium down-the-hole bits. The new Premium Plus design offers new refinements such as increased bit diameter and a tougher steel grade for improved fatigue properties and new button positioning for better productivity. Field tests have conclusively shown that the new bits provide a substantial boost in service life. Shanking and chunking will soon be considered a rarity. The range starts with 5” bits.

Rig-mounted semi-automatic grinder
Grinding is more important than ever. That’s why we’re now introducing a rig mounted semi-automatic grinding machine, able to grind every conceivable button bit type – from 35 mm to 250 mm in diameter. This new grinder naturally uses Secoroc patented diamond grinding wheels which ensure that worn spherical and ballistic button bits are ground to perfection. And because operators will literally take the grinder wherever they go, increased efficiency will follow in tow. It’s user-friendly too. Simply bolt it onto the rig, hook up the air hose and it’s ready to use.

You’ll find Atlas Copco Secoroc in Hall 53, row F/No.31, on the Atlas Copco Forage et Demolition S:A:S stand.
