Frequently asked questions

Boomer S1 D

4. What is not included in the scheduled service?

Travel costs. Daily and weekly maintenance, which is the customer’s responsibility.

1. Is the Rig and COP Care agreement available for all drill rigs and all rock drills?

To start with, the Atlas Copco Rig Care agreement covers the complete Boomer range. In the next step it will be extended to cover our Simba and Boltec ranges.  The Atlas Copco COP Care agreement covers the complete range of Atlas Copco rock drills.

9. Can the Atlas Copco Rig Care agreement be prolonged after 3 years/3 000 impact hours?

Not as a Rig Care agreement, since we can’t prolong the warranty, but we can always offer continuing service in a separate agreement.

2. Is it possible to have both Rig Care and COP Care?

Yes! Even if the Atlas Copco Rig and COP Care agreements will be sold as two independent aftermarket products, since there are customers who may only need one of them (e.g. they prefer to do rig service themselves), we should of course stress the benefits we can provide to the optimal performance of the customers drilling operations. If the customer signs up for both, Atlas Copco will offer a rate incentive, since the two products together offer synergies for both the customer and us (e.g. travel time, etc).

7. What help does the customer get from the Atlas Copco Rig and COP Care inspection and overhaul protocols?

The inspection protocols give a clear history of how the machine or the overhaul protocols of the rock drill has been serviced, and a documented summary of rig settings. The document shall be handed over to the customer after service.

3. What is included in the scheduled service?

Labour and all rig-specific original spare parts for the Rig Care agreement period, and for the COP Care agreement period, labor and all COP-specific original spare parts, COP Oil and COP Grease.

6. What is not covered by the extended warranty?

Travel costs. Damages caused by abuse or misuse. For the COP Care agreement shank adaptor/anvil, and consequent damages caused by them breaking. Damages arising from not using COP Oil and COP Grease, or by Atlas Copco recommended lubricants.

5. Is the extended warranty similar to the traditional factory warranty?

Yes.

10. Are the Atlas Copco Care agreements expensive?

When you can quantify and summarize all the benefits the Atlas Copco Rig and COP Care agreements offers the customer, it’s very competitively priced. Always remember to mention that the customer already has costs, which will disappear when an Atlas Copco Care agreement is in force. Above and beyond these, to obtain a fair comparison, he should also consider such additional factors such as his own extra ‘free’ time, which can be accounted, and the increased peace of mind that scheduled OEM service gives, which may be priceless.

8. How do we schedule inspections?

We visit the customer monthly.
