Atlas Copco’s Sustainability report is since 2001 prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines. This report is the second following the updated GRI 3.0 version guidelines.

Atlas Copco’s Sustainability Report covers all of Atlas Copco’s operations for the fiscal year 2007, unless otherwise stated. Operations divested during the year are excluded, whilst units that have been acquired are included (see Annual Report for details). Atlas Copco’s most recent Sustainability Report and Corporate Governance Report were published in March 2008, as part of the 2007 Annual Report.

The sustainability report 2007 is self-declared level B. The sustainability report 2006 was checked by GRI and declared level C due to missing reporting on a few Core indicators (EC4, LA19, HR4 and SO1) and missing Disclosures on Management Approach (DMA) on the six Indicator Catogories (EC, EN, LA, HR, SO and PR).  

The GRI core indicators reported and analyzed are those that are understood to be relevant and material to the Atlas Copco Group and its stakeholders, and which facilitate benchmarking with other companies in a broader sense. The report has been structured in accordance with Atlas Copco’s stakeholder model.

Reported facts and figures have been verified in accordance with Atlas Copco’s procedures for internal control over non-financial reporting. The sustainability report has been reviewed and approved by Atlas Copco’s Group Management.  
 
The Sustainability Report 2007 is self-declared level B, which is explained in detail in the GRI Compliance document. Atlas Copco had the self-declared GRI Application Level B confirmed by KPMG.
