Competence Development

Although the Atlas Copco Group is firmly decentralized in its approach, there is an agreement and commitment throughout the Group about how each and every individual employee's competence should be developed.

  • Every new employee will receive a solid introduction to:

- His/her own role
- The team in which they work in
- The company that they are employed by
- Their company's Business Area
- The Atlas Copco Group

  • Every employee will be given real responsibility from the day one of starting their new role
  • Every employee receives feedback and has the right to an annual appraisal
  • Atlas Copco is committed to providing ongoing internal and external training and development activities. The Group target is an annual average of 40 hours per year.
  • Projects opportunities are regularly advertised in the Group to ensure employee development outside the usual day to day activities can be achieved
  • Atlas Copco believes that Job Mobility provides Long-Term Development. We facilitate long-term development by advertising all vacancies in our Internal Job Market for all employees to see.

How can we be confident that our Competence Development commitments are being followed?

Whilst Atlas Copco operates in a decentralized culture, there are follow-up routines and feedback loops in place to safeguard that competence development is ongoing and in line with our expectations.
