History

By the early 90's, the Atlas Copco Group had grown considerably and manager's were scattered all over the world. The need for a procedure which encouraged internal mobility was greater than ever and in 1993 the internal job market was created.
Today the internal job market is used as a process for generating motivation and internal mobility, supporting the Group in reaching its vision for People Management.

Vision

To always have competent and committed people in order to bring the Group forward in line with our strategies.

How does it work?

Atlas Copco requires all open positions to be advertised on the internal job market. The job market is divided into two main sections:

  • International Job Market
Key strategic positions such as General Managers, Business Controllers and more senior positions are advertised here.
  • National Job Market
Other professional positions are advertised here.

Short term assignments/projects are usually also advertised in the job market.

Any employee with access to a computer can apply for open positions/projects advertised on the job market, anywhere in the world.  The International Job Market is monitored closely at Atlas Copco's Group Center, where statistics regarding managerial positions and mobility are also recorded. Consequently the internal job market is considered to be a unique and transparent tool.

Today external candidates can also apply for jobs that are advertised on either the international or national job markets.  See what you can find, click on the link above!
