Hans Sandberg earned his Master of Law from Uppsala University, Sweden, in 1970 and his Master of Comparative Jurisprudence (MCJ) from New York University, the United States, in 1972. In 1972 Hans Sandberg began as an Assistant Judge at Södra Roslagen District Court, Sweden, and was later employed at the Lagerlöf Law firm, Sweden. Hans Sandberg joined Atlas Copco in 1975 as Corporate Counsel. In 1980 he was appointed General Counsel for Atlas Copco North America Inc. He was promoted in 1984 to his current position and has been a member of Group Management since 1989. Hans Sandberg has been Secretary of the Board of Directors for Atlas Copco AB since 1991.
External directorship: Chair of the Board for legal matters of the trade and employers´organization, the Association of Swedish Engineering Industries, Sweden.
Holdings at year-end 2006: 5 000 Class A and 12 500 employee stock options.
