Energy Savings calculator

Calculate how much money and natural resources you can save for your application by using a compressor with an energy recovery system

The annual savings are expressed euro, dollar, MWh (in case of electrical boiler), m³ of fuel (in case of gas or heating oil). On top of that it shows the annual reduction of CO2 emission.

Instruction how to use the Energy Savings calculator

In the Settings tab :

  1. Select the measurement units
  2. Select the boiler fuel
  3. Specify other parameters needed for calculations

In the Energy tab:

  1. Set the input power of your air compressor
  2. Set the percentage of available recovered power (*)
  3. Specify cooling water temperature entering the compressor
  4. Specify the required outlet water temperature
  5. Specify the required hot water flow

Note: If you use a water-to-water heat exchanger to transfer the heat, then you need to specify the temperatures and the required flow of the second water circuit.

(*) You can estimate this percentage by using the graph below. To calculate precisely the recoverable power for your specific conditions, please contact your local Atlas Copco representative on www.atlascopco.com

Example: At a pressure of 10 bar(e) in the compressed airnet, 20 deg C water inlet, 30 deg C air intake and 70% relative humidity (RH), the recoverable energy amounts to 90 to 95%.
