Atlas Copco ranked number 10 among 2012 Global 100 most sustainable companies

Atlas Copco ranks No. 10 in the 2012 Global 100 Most Sustainable Companies – a list unveiled during a presentation Jan. 24 at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Atlas Copco appeared in the annual rankings for five consecutive years leading up to 2010 and is the top-ranked Swedish company in the 2012 rankings. The company, whose North American headquarters is located in Rock Hill, S.C., also ranked No. 7 overall for Leadership Diversity and is the highest-ranked industrial company on the list.

Roush appointed sales specialist for Atlas Copco Construction Equipment

Jamie Roush has been promoted to the position of parts and service sales specialist at Atlas Copco Construction Equipment effective Jan. 1. In his new role Roush will report directly to Atlas Copco Aftermarket Vice President Matt Cadnum.

Atlas Copco upgrades Silence Kit on SmartROC T40, T35 drill rigs

Atlas Copco has announced the availability of a newly upgraded Silence Kit for its SmartROC T35 and T40 surface drill rigs. The original kit was introduced in 2005, consisting of a distinctive hood enclosing the drill rod. The new Silence Kit, developed in cooperation with experienced users, reduces the noise generated from the feed by an additional 2 dB(A). Key improvements include a double layer of noise absorbent material together with an upgraded aluminum chassis that has greater resistance to drill rod vibration.

Stephen Nelson has been appointed to the position of business development manager at Atlas Copco Construction Equipment, Commerce City, Colo., effective Jan. 3. In his new role Nelson will report directly to Erik Sparby, president and general manager of Atlas Copco Construction Equipment.
