Annual Fundraising Event at Knights Stadium Benefits Juvenile Diabetes Research
Atlas Copco Compressors will join the Charlotte Knights for the fifth-consecutive year as the two help the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation “Swing for the Cure” at the annual fundraising event on Saturday, Aug. 11 at Charlotte Knights Stadium.
“It is certainly no coincidence that we have once again joined the Charlotte Knights and show our support for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and its mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes,” said Paul Humphreys, vice president of communications and branding for Atlas Copco Compressors, whose North American headquarters is located just a few miles from the Knights’ home in Fort Mill, S.C.
“This annual event has quickly become a favorite within the Atlas Copco Compressors community, as our employees and their families in the Charlotte area enjoy the opportunity to join each other outside of work and watch our hometown team,” Humphreys said.
Atlas Copco will host a company drawing to select one employee who will have the honor of throwing out the the first pitch of the game as the Knights, the Chicago White Sox Triple-A affiliate, face the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, at 7:15 p.m. A spectacular firework display will immediately follow the game’s final out.
This is the fifth consecutive year Atlas Copco has partnered with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights baseball team to help raise money and awareness for JDRF.
