No more production stops with Atlas Copco Rental’s contingency plan in place

Following a scan of its entire plant by Atlas Copco Rental’s specialists to define the exact needs for compressed air in case of an emergency, Ineos Phenol now has a contingency plan in place and is fully prepared.

Up & running at full capacity after only 5 days

In April 2012 Atlas Copco Rental delivered 13 oil-free air compressors to counterbalance Ineos Phenol’s turbo compressor. Thanks to the contingency plan made upfront, delivery and complete set up of the installation only took 5 days.

Fuel savings

Ineos Phenol initially requested 20.000 m³/hr of 100% oil-free air delivered by diesel compressors. Further discussion between the company and Atlas Copco Rental made it clear that Ineos Phenol had 11kV - 3MW power available that could also be used. This enabled Atlas Copco Rental to offer a wider variety of equipment enabling drastic fuel savings:

  • 7 x PTE 1500 electric compressors + transformer
  • TF6300 + distribution box DB8000 + electrical cables
  • 6 x PTS916 diesel compressors + 20.000 liter & 5.500 liter fuel tanks + fuel hoses
  • air hoses and connectors

No more production stops

After 8 weeks the turbo compressor was tested and restarted. With their contingency plan in place Ineos Phenol did not need to invest in an extra turbo compressor. The factory only had 5 days of decreased phenol production, there was no complete production stop.
