GG oil-lubricated methane gas compressor

Atlas Copco has designed a gas oil lubricated screw compressors to provide you with high reliability. It brings the benefits of our proven Variable Speed Drive technology to the field of biogas upgrading and biomethane gas grid injection. Designed for High Efficiency

Atlas Copco's VSD technology closely follows the gas demand and continuously adjusts the motor speed, resulting in energy savings. The Variable Speed Drive (VSD), coupled with inlet pressure control, maximizes flow, and minimizes required horsepower.

 

By working less to do more, VSD consumes less power, while giving greater process control and requiring less maintenance. Variable  Speed  Drive (VSD) allows  your  gas  compressor  to  easily  adapt  to  changing  gas  production  needs.

 

When  the  quantity  of  gas  available from your process rises, the VSD motor speeds up to ensure a continuous supply of gas to the grid with very low-pressure fluctuations. 

Energy recovery

Turn your compressor into an energy source.

Our water-cooled gas screw compressors can be equipped with an Energy Recovery unit. This helps you achieve your low carbon economy goals. 

Recover up to 75% of the electrical energy which is converted into compression heat. This can be then used by our energy recovery system to heat up water for sanitary purposes, space heating, or process applications. Considered as a key savings in Biogas where biodigester needs to be always kept warm.

An easy-to-use control system – the Elektronikon Mk V control & monitoring system, allows you to keep an eye on all parameters of your daily operations. Moreover, key features including an emergency solenoid valve shutdown stop to isolate the compressor from the gas supply in emergencies.

In addition, gas detection sensors and software, allow for a safe compressor solution. With a compact and robust design to meet the high safety demands in the biogas industry, the GG-Series compressors comply with the stringent ATEX 2 design requirements and CE directives.

Security functions are handled by a SIL2 PLC (according to IEC 61508), making the GG-Series one of the safest and most reliable choices in the industry.
