Rand-Air (Atlas Copco Rental South Africa) sets the scene for Australian TV series

4 May 2017

Boksburg, South Africa, May 2017. Triosphere, a multiple awarded and independent South African television production company, relied on Rand-Air for the supply of power, including eight generators, to run 24/7 stable and uninterrupted power required for their operations.

Triosphere has a distinguished track record in conceptualizing and producing Documentaries and Factual Series for international broadcast clients including Discovery Channel, National Geographic and Animal Planet.

The company has successfully produced several, highly acclaimed, award-winning international Reality series formats with the recent filming of their third season of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here, an Australian series in Hoedspruit, Mpumalanga.

Contributing to the success of the filming was a large crew, 60+ cameras in a remote location and high quality equipment from portable compressed air and power generation rental company, Rand-Air.

Our operation runs 24/7 with highly sophisticated, sensitive equipment requiring impeccably stable, uninterrupted power. We’re essentially a world-class television studio, broadcasting live to Australia via satellite – from a remote, temporary location. Heat, humidity, storms, floods – regardless of the challenges, there simply is no margin for error from a power supply perspective.

Oloff Bergh , CEO and executive producer, Triosphere

The rental involved eight Rand-Air generators sized from 80 kva, 200 kva to 300 kva and the team worked around the clock to get all the machines off the truck, in place, and running in time for filming whilst ensuring safety compliance was met.

In addition, the team needed to ensure that a number of environmental challenges were adhered to ensure the effective execution of the project.

Rand-Air made a point of understanding our unique industry and project requirements and were meticulous in meeting our deadlines. Their engineers were knowledgeable, professional and supremely committed, regardless of the time of night or the dilemma faced. They promised and delivered equipment and service of a truly incomparable standard.
