Atlas Copco Rental increases its presence in Offshore North Sea region

February 21, 2017

Atlas Copco Rental Europe, an organization specializing in industrial rental solutions and part of the Atlas Copco Group, has adapted its organizational structure to support its focus on the Offshore rental business.

The new business unit is headquartered in Dundee, UK and will be the competence center for the company’s activities in the North Sea region.

Offshore projects, such as the construction of wind farms, processes in dredging, subsea engineering and oil & gas platform operations, pose challenges such as harsh climate conditions and hazardous operations. Atlas Copco Rental Europe has been active in the offshore segments for decades, offering temporary compressed air, power and nitrogen solutions. It has now decided to support this market segment with a dedicated business unit and competence center.

Dedicated offshore rental depots, rental equipment and technicians

From the head office in Dundee, Scotland, operators and maintenance experts will be trained and certified according to the industry’s stringent standards to provide support on all offshore projects.

The rental fleet has been expanded with ATEX/Zone 2, rig-safe and offshore-certified equipment.

In addition to the main hub in Dundee, depots in the Zwijndrecht (Netherlands), Stavanger (Norway) and Esbjerg (Denmark) will support the North Sea region with certified engineers and facilities to maintain and service the offshore rental equipment.
