Type of blades and discs
Float Blade
Steel
Float blades are used for floating the concrete surface in the initial stage of the concrete finishing process. Atlas Copco blades have a nearly flat surface, creating suction between the blade and the surface. This moves the concrete from a higher position to a lower positions on the slab.
Float Disc
Steel
Float discs are an alternative to float blades. Float discs increase the overall flatness of the concrete slab.
Finish Blade
Steel
Finish blades are used after the floating process is complete and the surface has hardened or dried. The excellent quality of the blades offers the operator great advantage to adjust the angle of the blades to achieve the desired finishing.
Combination Blade
Steel
Combination blades are a two in one blade option, the unique shape of the blade allows one side to be used for floating operation, and, the other side for finishing operation. The combination blades offer operators a choice to complete both floating and finish operation without switching between two different blade options.
Finish Blade
Plastic
On many occasions, finishing with steel blades leaves dark shade marks on the concrete surface, especially on light reflective or coloured surfaces, due to metal deposits. The high quality plastic blades (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) offers contractors a perfect finish to their coloured slabs.
