Description

If oil vapours enter the compressed air stream, they can damage air-powered equipment and contaminate end products, which can increase the operating costs of businesses significantly.

That is why Atlas Copco has developed a series of top-quality air filters that can protect your operation and your investments from oil vapor. The filters of the QDT and QD+ series can help your equipment last longer and ensure that your end products meet even the most stringent quality standards.

Know your air quality requirements

Knowing your air quality requirements and which standards to comply with will help you select the right air filter, which could lower your investment costs and ensure that you get the most out of your compressed air system.

If you are uncertain which filter to use and only know that you have to protect your system from oil vapor, then you first have to find out your air quality requirements. For some applications, oil vapor in the compressed air stream does not pose a problem, for example inflating tires. In cleanroom environments, on the other hand, these vapors must be filtered out before they contaminate sensitive end products.

If you are not sure which ISO standard applies to your operation or which type of contaminant you have to protect your system from, you can contact Atlas Copco or consult the tables below.

QD+ series

QD+ series

The macro-structured activated carbon of Atlas Copco’s QD+ series will reduce the residual oil content through adsorption to less than 0.003 mg/m³. In addition, it offers a low pressure drop that remains constant during the lifetime of the filter.

QD+ filters not only ensure a maximum oil vapor removal but also minimal dust release. They minimize operating costs and are extremely reliable thanks to stainless-steel cores, epoxy-sealed caps and a filter housing with anti-corrosive coating.

The filters of the QD+ series are also easy to maintain, which lowers your operating costs further. The push-in element and drain connection were designed for effortless replacement. The service indicator shows (preventive) maintenance alerts.

QDT series

QDT series

These filters consist of a high-efficiency activated carbon tower that removes oil vapor, hydrocarbons and odors from your compressed air supply. Using adsorption, the activated carbon layers will reduce the residual oil content to lower than 0.003 mg/m³.

Thanks to an optimal internal flow path, the filters of the QDT series also offer a low pressure drop that stays minimal throughout the filter’s lifetime. Their robust design and optimal filter material also make the QDT series highly reliable.

Certification

Certification

QDT series - ISO 8573-5:2001

Check out the brochure for more information on the QD+ and QDT series.

For filtering out oil vapor (as well as hydrocarbons and odors), Atlas Copco also offers the high-pressure H series of filters and its silicone-free SFA series.

The ideal filtration technology

The QD+ series uses the macro-structured activated carbon technology, which provides a larger surface structure than typical carbon filters. Thanks to its supreme adsorption capacity, it delivers a steady performance over a longer period.

inPASS™ bypass

The QD+ series comes with the revolutionary built-in bypass that allows you to service your filter without disrupting the air flow. To you that means big investment savings by eliminating the need install an expensive external piping bypass, lower operating and energy costs as well as reduced maintenance times.

Service indicator

To ensure constant air quality, the QD+ series features a service indicator for an easy check of the filter’s running hours, differential pressure, and the maintenance status. It can even send a remote alert.

Cutting-edge filtration technology

Atlas Copco’s dedicated filtration team is always looking for ways to give you a competitive edge. The new filter generation features several innovations that make your filtration system more efficient and its operation easier. Here are just three examples.

Find the right filter for your application

The table below shows the various ISO 8573-1:2010 air purity classes and the Atlas Copco filters and dryer-combinations that meet these classes.

If you are unsure which ISO class you need but you do know what contaminant you have to protect your system from, then check out the general and special applications tables below. It will provide you with an overview of which Atlas Copco filters are the ideal solution for which contaminant.

When working with other pressures than the nominal pressure, the actual FAD capacity is calculated by multiplying the correction factor with the rated AML capacity. The calculated actual flow capacity corresponds to the AML-stated pressure drop.
