Meet the Power Technique Team - Fraser Morey

As Atlas Copco celebrates 100 years in the UK, we get to know our team better and share some memories of Atlas Copco over their careers

Our current Year in Industry student, George, has been interviewing members of the Power Technique Team to gather some memories and some insight into why Atlas Copco stands the test of time.

What is your current role at Atlas Copco Power Technique?
My current role is Regional Sales Manager for the South of England, looking after direct sales and a few of our authorised distributors.

I know you are a new member of the Atlas Copco Power Technique team, but have you always been in sales based roles?
My history has been in contractor plant hire. I have worked for both plant hire companies and civil engineering companies, looking after their plant and transport needs. I have also had previous experience in capital sales when I worked for a company called Leach Lewis, from 2003-2006. This was when I first came across Atlas Copco products.

How has the transition been from roles within plant hire, to the manufacturing side of the industry?
The transition has been a lot smoother than I thought it could be, coming from plant hire to capital sales, because of my previous roles, I'd gained a strong insight into capital sales roles. This particular role is different to what I was doing before, because it is working directly for the manufacturers, instead of just representing the manufacturers.

Since starting in this role, do you feel like you have grown your knowledge on the Atlas Copco product range?
Absolutely! With my previous roles, my knowledge of Atlas Copco machines was sort of focused specifically on only two compressors and two pneumatic tools, but since starting this role, I’ve learned a lot about the entire range - from the tiny power packs to the big compressors.

What has been one of your favourite moments since you started at Atlas Copco?
I think my favourite moment so far has been the first week I joined Atlas Copco in May, because I jumped right in and everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Talking to previous Atlas Copco employees, and current employees, everyone has spoken so highly of Atlas Copco.

Which Power Technique product would you best describe yourself as?
I’m going to be greedy and go for two options. The first is actually not a specific product, but an accessory: I see myself as a compressor hose, because without a hose, the compressor and the tool attached are redundant. I think it applies to my role because I am joining the dealers and customers to the manufactures. I am basically the middle man! My second choice is a light tower, because when I walk into a room I tend to light the place up!
