Compressor overhaul completed at on 45kw machine in Atlas Copco Ireland’s workshop
As part of one of our customer’s summer shutdown period, a speedy turnaround on their compressor element was essential for their oil injected 45kW compressor overhaul.

To ensure a fast turnaround on the works committed to, an official Atlas Copco service exchange element was utilised. The existing oil injected element is replaced with another element on which the overhaul work was already completed and successfully tested. This works is done by our specialised facility in the Netherlands. The removed element is then sent back there for a next overhaul, provided its condition is within tolerances.
The electrical motor is cleaned and overhauled with fresh bearings and its proper operation tested. The motor and exchange element are then coupled back together in our workshop.
As an OHSAS 18001 certified company we take safety very seriously. Our workshop is equipped with a specialised lifting crane and we also use a bespoke mounting frame for ergonomic and safe working on the element. Our service engineer is also equipped with full PPE and has multiple years of experience of overhauls.
Once the refurbishment has been completed in our workshop, the element and motor were transported back to site for re-fitting into the original compressor. A full service is also carried out on the compressor at this time. The compressor is then test-ran to ensure correct operation and on-screen temperatures / pressures are recorded. A service report is then issued to the customer and a record of the work is kept in our internal intranet.
