Why I think diversity is important:
It is an established fact that the male and female psyche have different ways of functioning. While men probably arrive at decisions quicker, women have the ability to provide insights from multiple angles on a given subject. So, it is only too obvious that men cannot do what women can and women cannot do what men can. They complement each other.
In a workplace, where both the speed and quality of the decisions taken are equally important, it is not only good but rather essential that men and women collaborate. Also, being one of the places where people spend a good part of their day, a workplace with a gender diverse environment, helps everyone to be more understanding human beings and lead a better life in society at large.
The change I’d like to bring about as part of the diversity and inclusion task force:
To promote inclusion and retention of female employees where-ever possible, to coach managers about the benefit of a gender diverse work place and to motivate them to create a gender diverse team , and thus try to create a perfect gender diverse workplace.
