Louis Tan
Business Line Manager - Industrial Air (Malaysia & Singapore)
How do you ensure your team stays agile in a competitive, fast-changing industrial landscape?
We focus on preparation, not just reaction. Regular scenario planning, open communication, and strong frontline empowerment ensure we move fast without compromising quality. We build flexibility into our system by empowering people to make decisions closer to the customer.
From right:
What’s your approach to aligning sales efforts with the company's broader sustainability and efficiency goals?
We make sustainability part of the value conversation. Whether it’s reducing energy costs or promoting longer-lasting equipment, we’re always asking, “How does this help the customer—and the planet?” It’s about selling smarter, with impact that lasts beyond the transaction.
How do you identify and develop talent within your sales team?
I look for attitude before aptitude. Then we invest—through mentoring, exposure to real-world challenges, and giving them the freedom to own their work. The goal is to build confidence early, and let potential shine without waiting for titles or tenure.
What’s one practice or ritual that keeps your team connected and focused?
Our weekly “sales sync” is more than a meeting—it’s a moment to share wins, ask for help, and reflect. We keep it real, light, and focused on learning, not just reporting. These small rituals create a rhythm that keeps us grounded and united.
If you had to describe your sales team in three words, what would they be—and why?
Driven. Collaborative. Resilient. We push hard, but we pull together. No lone wolves—just a pack that moves with purpose. And we support one another no matter how tough the terrain.
