E-book Compressed Air Filters

Filters play a crucial role in the proper treatment of compressed air. In this interactive e-book on filters you will learn everything on contaminants and which filters offer you optimal protection.
Are you looking for a water droplet filtration for your compressed air system to protect it from water droplets? Then Atlas Copco has the perfect solution for you – the WSD water separator.
Atlas Copco’s WSD cyclone-based separators effectively remove water aerosols. Made entirely of corrosion-proof material, they increase the reliability of your entire compressed air system. WSD water separators have no moving parts and are essentially maintenance-free. We offer them with an automatic or a manual drain.
Another major benefit of the WSD series, which can be installed at any point of your compressed air system, is that it will reduce your energy costs. Their intelligent drain function monitors condensate build-up with liquid level sensors. It only drains the condensate when required to avoid using compressed air inefficiently.
The build-up of condensed water can pose major problems for your compressed air system. To protect it – and components like your dryers and filters – you need a water separator that effectively removes liquid water aerosols.
And there are no better cyclonic water droplet filters than the WSD series from Atlas Copco. They can be installed at any point in your compressed air system and even come as standard with our aftercoolers.
Protecting your compressed air system from water condensation build-up is always a good idea.
If you are unsure, and only know that you have to protect your system from water droplets, then you need to first find out your air quality requirements. For some applications, they are much less important than for others, so knowing which ISO standard you have to comply with allows you to pick the ideal equipment for your system and get the most out of your investment.
The table below shows the various ISO 8573-1:2010 air purity classes and the Atlas Copco filters and dryer-combinations that meet these classes.
If you are unsure which ISO class you need but you do know what contaminant you have to protect your system from, then check out the general and special applications tables below. It will provide you with an overview of which Atlas Copco filters are the ideal solution for which contaminant.

Dirt, water and oil are no match for Atlas Copco’s filters. They are designed to remove one or more of the following contaminants:
Dry dust
Micro organism
Oil aerosol
Wet dust
Oil vapor
Water drops
