CSR: Calamity Assistance Program

Atlas Copco’s Helping Hands

At Atlas Copco, we are committed to being part of the solution for a better tomorrow. And just recently, in partnership of Atlas Copco Philippines and CFC ANCOP Global Foundation we launched the support for the Calamity Assistance Program.

Project background:

In 2020, more than 55,000 children and their families were affected by typhoons Goni (Rolly) and Vamco (Ulysses) in the Bicol and Cagayan Valley Regions. Today, there are still a lot of families who were not able to repair their houses due to economic reasons, further worsen by the pandemic.

Project partner: ANCOP Global Foundation Inc.

ANCOP stands for Answering the Cry of the Poor, founded by Couples for Christ (CFC), a faith-based Vatican recognized international lay organization of the faithful that has a worldwide membership and active in over 100 countries and dependent territories. Shelter building for the poor and education sponsorship are among its many other programs.

Project scope & timeline:

Thru the donations of Atlas Copco Philippines, fifty (50) selected beneficiaries from Tiwi, Albay will receive Php5,000 Cash Assistance for Shelter Kits (Rood Replacement). These victims are chosen by the Local Government Unit, in collaboration with CFC ANCOP. They are most vulnerable from exposure to the elements since they do not have the means to replace the roofs blown away from their houses during the onslaught of Typhoon Rolly.

The virtual turnover of donations between Atlas Copco Philippines and ANCOP happened last March 18, 2021 which attended and supported by both parties including the Atlas Copco Holdings Vice President, Mr. Horst Wasel and General Manager, Mr. Muhannad Soud.

More updates soon for the completion of the project & actual installation of the roofs for our beneficiaries!
