First Local Project: Safe Drinking Water for 72 families of Brgy. Dambo, Pangil, Laguna
Atlas Copco Philippines W4A’s first project happened in June 2018 in partnership with the local NGO, Gawad Kalinga. With the combined employee and company donations, Atlas Copco Philippines was able to provide access to safe drinking water to the 72 families of Brgy. Dambo, in Pangil, Laguna. The inauguration was conducted successfully with all the members, VP Holdings, Mr. Horst Wasel, former General Manager, Mr. Sanjeev Sharma and the Swedish Ambassador, Mr. Harald Fries — all went through the 3-hour travel just to celebrate with the beneficiaries.
It was September 2019 when the W4A committee last visited the site and it’s overwhelming to witness how the families of Brgy. Dambo has been enjoying this new safe drinking water supply and has been doing all their own efforts to maintain and sustain its existence for their daily living.
2021 Project in Progress
In celebration of the 2021 World Water Day, the local committee recently re-launched the Water for All – in awareness for the new onboard employees and to encourage more new members which resulted to eleven employees who recently registered and join. The celebration continues wherein all the members received a token of appreciation and shared some quick and fun virtual activities.
It was also discussed during the celebration that the W4A committee is leading & working on to the new local project which will support the families in one community in Davao City thru providing safe drinking water supply. The team is currently in communication and coordination with the potential NGO partner to make this project possible to happen this year.
