1. What is an Oil-Free Compressor?

Oil-free compressors are air compressors that operate without oil in the lubricating chamber, eliminating the chance of contamination downstream - meaning that there isn't any chance that your end-product and application will be contaminated by oil. Rather than using oil, these compressors will utilize other technology types such as water to lubricate the compression chamber.

2. What is VSD technology?

VSD is an integrated frequency convertor to ensure optimum efficiency, by tuning the capacity, narrowing down the pressure band and avoiding unload power losses. AQ VSD technology closely follows the air demand by automatically adjusting the motor speed, which accounts for an average 35% of energy saving.

3. How water injected screw compressor’s works?

At the heart of the new AQ, there is the water-injected screw element, producing highly efficient near isothermal compression. The polymer ceramic rotors with their optimized rotor profile are supported by water-lubricated bearings, ensuring that no oil contaminates the compression element, thereby producing pure oil-free air.

4. How is water quality maintained?

Using distilled water or reverse osmosis water for the water injection, the built-in reverse osmosis system filters and storage tank ensures a constant supply of high-quality water, avoiding corrosion & bacteria growth.

5. How water injected compressors help in energy saving?

Removing the wasted energy that heat represents gives more air per kW of power. With high cooling capacity of water, it makes best in class ‘specific energy requirement’ levels, hence provide low temperatures during compression. The compressed air's low temperatures reduce the stress on components ensuring long life.

6. What ISO standards water injected screw compressors meet?

AQ compressors provide 100% pure, clean air that meets the ISO 8573-1 CLASS 0 (2010) standard. The AQ eliminates the risk of contamination with 100% oil-free air and less maintenance.

7. How many variants are available?

The AQ 15-55 VSD range is available in both Water and Air-cooled versions, Pack and Full Feature offering high-pressure capability 13 bar. The models offered in this range are AQ 15 VSD, AQ 18 VSD, AQ 22 VSD, AQ 30 VSD, AQ 37 VSD, and AQ 55 VSD.

8. What type of drive system the compressor has and how it provides energy efficiency?

AQ Screw compressor’s drive system is totally enclosed with PE fan-cooled (TEFC/IP55) squirrel cage induction motor. The high efficiency induction motors is combined with direct driven arrangement, which provides superior efficiency.

9. How can you monitor and control compressor’s parameter/features?

The Elektronikon® controller can be adapted to your specific needs with extra sensors, digital contacts, fieldbus, Internet and SMS communication functions. It optimizes the operation of your complete compressor room by using the ES multiple compressor controller. It has graphical 3.5-inch high definition color display with clear pictograms and self-explaining navigation.
