High pressure ratios per stage
The pressure ratio per stage of EC screw steam compressor is 6. This is achieved by controlled desuperheating. Turbocompressors typically have a pressure ratio of 1.8-2.5 per stage, making screw steam compressor a great solution for achieving higher pressures in less number of stages
State-of-the-Art Screw Element
Our durable nickel-coated rotors tolerate minor impurities in inlet steam while maintaining high efficiency and long service life. Combined with a high-efficiency motor and variable speed drive (VSD), the system delivers the right amount of steam when needed—reducing energy costs and preventing overproduction.
Controlled superheating
Our EC VSD steam compressor uses unique control algorithms to let you define the exact superheat level you need. For example, if your process requires 6 barg steam (165°C saturation) with 15°C superheating, the compressor will precisely regulate discharge temperature to 180°C—ensuring optimal performance and process stability.
Advanced control and monitoring
An integrated microprocessor controller ensures precise steam pressure and superheat temperature control. Superheated steam prevents costly issues like steam hammering and reduces the need for steam traps, simplifying your network and improving reliability.
Easy installation
The plug-and-play design comes fully integrated on a self-supporting frame—no special foundations required. All essential components, including the screw element, drive train, lubrication system, electrical cabinet, and noise-reducing canopy, are pre-assembled for quick commissioning.
Maximum energy savings
Operating as an open-loop heat pump, the S VSD steam compressor transforms waste heat into valuable high-temperature steam. With a COP (Coefficient of Performance) up to 10, only 100 kW of electricity is needed to produce 1 MW of usable thermal energy—far outperforming fired or electric boilers.
Proven 100% pure steam
Atlas Copco’s innovative design guarantees 100% oil-free steam. Our advanced sealing system combines a robust mechanical seal with a buffer gas barrier, ensuring no lubrication oil or air enters the steam compression chamber—and no steam contaminates the oil circuit.
