Constructora Gardilcic operates in Chile since 1984.
With over 30 years of experience, the company has positioned itself as one of the leaders in the field of underground construction and mining: Constructora Gardilcic has built over 500 kilometers of tunnels as well as underground caves, chimneys, ramps, underground shafts, mining preparation, electrical installations and paving.
The company is also active in the development of surface works such as the construction of dams, roads for hydroelectric and combined cycle plants to give just a few examples.
Because of its wide portfolio of projects, Constructora Gardilcic requires the most efficient solutions to carry out each one of these initiatives.
So when it came to develop a hole drilling project, they contacted Atlas Copco Specialty Rental in Chile.
One of the main reasons to do so was that the Rental Division “had available at that time not only the equipment they were looking for but also could supply compressors with zero hours of use” explains Álvaro Salgado, Key Account Manager. This indeed represented then an important advantage over competition.
Constructora Gardilcic's project consisted of drilling holes of up to 5 ½ in diameter for VCR chimneys, drainage and services. The Atlas Copco XRVS 476 Diesel Compressor was a perfect match. It was used for high pressure air supply during the drilling work with DTH equipment.
“We have been very satisfied with the rented equipment because it performed just as expected. The main benefit I can point out is the high level of reliability one gets out of a quality product that meets the standards. It was also important for us to have a good background support, and with Atlas Copco Rental we did receive this for sure!”
For Atlas Copco Rental in Chile this could well mean the start of a long term collaboration with , they feel proud that the use of their equipment for the above project was developed smoothly allowing them to continue working with Constructora Gardilcic on future projects.
