Equinor Refinery Denmark A/S rents steam boiler for planned maintenance
Temporary solution for on-site steam generation

In August 2018, Equinor Refinery Denmark A/S, 100% owned by the Norwegian company Equinor ASA (former known as Statoil) had to do routine boiler maintenance at its plant in Kalundborg, Denmark. As they could not afford to idle their plant during maintenance, they required a boiler which could replicate the functions of their normal machinery.
Our Rental team worked closely with Equinor Refinery Denmark to devise a suitable solution. After modelling site requirements and discussing technical issues, they decided to opt for a combination of a 16 t/h steam Boiler with super-heated water boiler that brought the temperature up to +225C° at 18 bar.
Logistical challenge accepted: full steam ahead!
The challenge of transporting this capacious equipment remained. However using our cross-border experience and depots located across Europe, we were able to transport the equipment within the customer's defined time line, including handling administrative matters.
This kind of transportation project requires both close supervision and organizational efficiency: our team expedited the task as quickly as possible to the benefit of Equinor. Boiler downtime was kept to a minimum and runtime was optimized.
Seamless installation and operation
When the equipment reached the refinery, our team assisted with installation and operation, rapidly creating a replacement system. With this in place, Equinor Refinery Denmark was free to focus on its own high-priority maintenance tasks, without worrying about the continuity of its everyday operations. This project demonstrates some of our key strengths.
