Official opening of Pennine Pneumatic Services announces business expansion and new job opportunities in Brighouse

Pennine Pneumatic Services (PPS), multiple winners of Atlas Copco’s Distributor of the Year, had its official opening of its prestigious premises on Thursday 14th December announcing expansion plans and job opportunities in Brighouse as the company recruits for a bigger workforce with roles varying from field and sales engineers to stores operatives.

Alexander Pavlov, General Manager for Atlas Copco Compressor Technique business in the United Kingdom and Ireland revealed a plaque commemorating the occasion. PPS are the main distributor for Atlas Copco in the region. Gary Whitaker, Director and founder of Pennine Pneumatic Services gave a moving speech in which he said,

I left this building as a 21 year old lad and never thought I’d be back here again. I had a vision that the new building should look like a BMW showroom and I think we’ve done that. I’m really proud of what we've achieved here with the help of our staff and our partners.

The official opening was attended by: Eorl Crabtree and Brian Blacker from the Huddersfield Giants, Ada Tangara, Mark Moore rom Halifax Rugby League Football Club and Billy Heath, Matty Brown, Jake Hibbs and Ben Bottomley from Halifax Town FC. All of these teams are sponsored by PPS. There were also more than 50 suppliers, partners, contractors and associates.

We couldn’t have done all of this without the staff, we always work together as a team here and this new building couldn’t have happened without you all. We look forward to finding new team members as we grow the company. I’d also like to thank Gary for taking me on and giving me the best start in my young life. I’m so glad that I got the opportunity to join Pennine [Pneumatic Services] and be here in this great building today

As well as staff from PPS and its sister company, Sheffield-based Simm Engineering, attendees included representatives of Calderdale Council, Camozzi, Handelsbanken, Legris, Made in Yorkshire, Parker, plus several members of staff from key supplier of air compressors, vacuum pumps and associated equipment, Atlas Copco. Two charitable organisations supported by PPS, Overgate Hospice and Tempus Novo, were also present. The site has its own dedicated Trade Counter and smart new staff offices and open-plan areas as well as an improved layout for the stores and service department. There will be a further open day for customers new and old to showcase the facilities and services. In the meantime anyone wishing to visit the new premises is welcome to drop by during working hours.
