Safety is our priority in supporting our customers during COVID-19

Many of our customers are considered key businesses and operating within the Energy, Medical, Pharmaceutical, Food / Agriculture, Water & Waste Water Treatment, Waste Management, Transport and Logistics sectors.

We are continuing to support our customers with our products, services and expertise, and our highest priority is to do this safely and follow the guidelines from our Company, the Government and the Health & Safety Executive (UK) or Health & Safety Authority (Ireland).

Risk Assessments and new processes

We have therefore put in place a process, where any work that involves our employees encroaching the two metre social distancing rules, requires a job / task specific Risk review and Risk Assessment to be produced.


With that in mind our first action is try to eradicate the jobs that require two people to work closer than 2 metres apart, by utilising cranes or other mechanical lifts rather than a second person. If this is not possible then our control measures will always include key PPE including disposable coveralls, face masks, gloves and a face shield or protective glasses, and the activity will have time restraints where two people can be closer than 2 metres.


Our QSHE team has created a whole section of specific documents dedicated to COVID-19 which include guidelines, procedures, risk assessments, safety moments, posters and information.


Specific COVID-19 risk assessments are available for all of our service customers. As with all risk reviews the aim is to identify the hazards and risks and take actions to eliminate hazards and, if that’s not possible, to control the risk.

  • Procedure for two persons during compressor service, body work and motor removal

  • Procedure for management, sales and employee visits to customer sites or facilities

  • Engineer support for offshore site visit procedure

  • All our Field Service Engineers carry lateral flow tests in case required



If there are any instances where our employees must work with another person closer than 2 metres, and we have not got a specific risk assessment, our QSHE and management team are available to assist and discuss possible a solution and documentation required.


 


COVID-19 Questionnaire

In addition to these, all customers are sent a COVID-19 Questionnaire to fill in prior to the site visit.  A copy of this is issued to our Field Service Engineer prior the visit. All our Field Service Engineers have completed COVID-19 safety courses.
