Our current Year in Industry student, George, has been interviewing members of the Power Technique Team to gather some memories and some insight into why Atlas Copco stands the test of time.
What is your role at Atlas Copco?
I am the Marketing Communications Manager for Power Technique. I’ve been in this role for just over a year and a half.
What has been the best part of your role? I know it hasn't been too long, but what has stood out?
I think all of the shows - there is so much build up and so much excitement. Before the show you have to get everything ready, then you get there and set everything up and you have to wear your high vis and steel toe caps. It’s nice to get out of the office and it’s nice to be with your colleagues but in a different environment. It’s just a different spin on the day job.
So, how long have you worked with Atlas Copco?
What has kept you at Atlas Copco for this long?
I think that Atlas have loads of opportunities. This is not the only role I’ve had at Atlas Copco, this is my 3rd role. I started off as an Internal Sales Engineer with the Compressors division, then I was a CRM Lead for our customer relation system, C4C, and then I took over the Marketing Communication Manager role with Power Technique. There are opportunities to change roles, change divisions, and work all over the world. I think a role at Atlas Copco gives you a lot more opportunity to change your career path, if and when you want to.
Which Power Technique product best describes you?
I think I’m going to have to go with one of the generators. I keep the power on high, keep the team going, and tea is my fuel - I couldn’t last without 7 or 8 cups a day!
