Humanitarian aid: floods in Italy

The deadly floods in the “Emilia Romagna” region in Northern Italy have hit the local population hard. Vast amounts of rain over a short period of time have caused overflowing, burrowing, and have changed entire riverbeds. Before the floods, the region was hit by severe drought, which dried out the land, drastically reducing its capacity to absorb water. Another climate-related event with devastating consequences.
More than a helping hand
More than 20 rivers in the region have burst their banks and caused a wave of close to 300 landslides. Up to 20,000 people have been forced to leave their homes and many more have been left without power. Homes, farmland, tourism, events, so much is just gone … Then there’s the loss of life … Tragic. In 2012, this very region was hit by a massive earthquake from which they have recovered, but now this … But in tragedy, we all come together.
Atlas Copco Rental’s “Masters of Flow” didn’t hesitate, loaded up a variety of equipment, and set off to the region. The Varisco Wellpoint and Rental team brought manpower, equipment, and their devotion to help. When the going gets tough, the tough get flowing … In coordination with local authorities, the team is doing more than their part and assisting where they can, on various scales.
