A hybrid application in the field of power generation is generally considered to be a power solution involving a sustainable product, such as a Battery Energy Storage System(BESS) and a fossil fuel powered source, such as a diesel generator. With a generator and a BESS working in harmony the power supply is more stable and efficient. This efficiency is gained by ensuring that whenever the generator is being run, it is being run at an optimal and efficient point to maximize fuel efficiency. The BESS stores excess energy to provide power during periods of low loads, which heavily reduces the running hours, maintenance frequency, and general wear and tear on the generator.
