Whether it’s a defective tightening, misaligned component, or an assembly deviation, the real challenge often starts at disassembly. Without structure, operators face guesswork, damage risk, and extended downtime.
That’s why we built Avantguard’s Disassembly Control, to bring structure, traceability, and control to every step of the process.
The Disassembly Challenge
Disassembly isn’t just reversing a process; It’s about doing it without causing further damage. But without clear documentation or structured guidance, teams face real obstacles.
- Outdated paper trails, incomplete, or based on operators’ knowledge and experience
- Missed or damaged joints during manual disassembly
- No traceability after the unit is opened
Avantguard eliminates these blind spots, increasing product quality and ensuring every component and tightening is handled correctly.
How It Works
The disassembly is built on original assembly data and tracks and controls the whole disassembly and reassembly workflow. It’s ideal for reworking critical operations with full operator step by step guidance. Simply:
- Assign tools either the same tools used for assembly or new ones
- Choose the procedure to work on
- Start/stop disassembly based on the NOK condition
Disassembly steps are generated from existing build data, giving operators step-by-step guidance and ensuring correct order and torque application.
Guided Disassembly
Operators follow structured instructions to avoid damaging nearby parts and speed up fault access. It's standard work instructions—in reverse. Ensuring the right tightening program is done on the right part.
The result: better monitoring, fewer errors, and less training required.
Full Traceability Throughout the Process
Avantguard captures torque, angle, tool ID, and operator data for every joint, ensuring complete traceability. When rework is required, you know:
- Which joints were tightened
- The correct sequence to reverse
- Which joints were out of spec (NOK)
During disassembly, each step is tracked to ensure accuracy. Once the NOK is corrected, Avantguard updates accordingly. Reassembly is fully guided and monitored, if a component is incorrectly reassembled, it will be flagged as NOK until corrected.
This guarantees a reliable, traceable process from disassembly through to final reassembly, with trusted OK/NOK results every step of the way.
Integrated Rework Stations
Avantguard works with mobile or fixed rework stations using a wide range of tools including Atlas Copco’s Smart Tools. Operators get real-time NOK/OK visibility, and each correction is tracked and logged. It is an easy convenience for operators to incorporate the disassembly control feature along with your regular rework stations and ensuring everything is done right.
Disassembly With Traceability
Every reverse step is tracked—just like in assembly. Operators know what to loosen, what to remove, and what to inspect.
Benefits for your line:
- Faster root cause analysis
- Less scrap and rework errors
- Complete traceability
- Structured reintegration
- Higher overall product quality
- Higher cost savings and reduced operators time on tasks
Bring Order to Your Processes
Disassembly and rework don’t have to be a bottleneck. Avantguard gives you a structured, traceable path from fault detection to final correction.
