When a leading service provider faced the challenge of upgrading and integrating one of the world’s biggest refinery with a very limited space to bring in the necessary equipment: Atlas Copco Rental was their obvious choice.
The company was awarded a sub-contract for pre-commissioning activities: they needed to provide air for blowing and drying the pipelines of a refinery. When space is limited this type of projects become extremely challenging.
Indeed in the limited available space they had to mobilize the equipment continuously while, at the same time, the project owner was extremely strict with both the quality of the equipment used and the expected results.
Their customer needed high-quality equipment capable of working within limited space, reach the required dew point (-30 °C and lower) at 7 Bar and with 24/7 service support. The choice was self-evident and they immediately came to us for support.
The ideal pair: PTS 800 with PHS 1000 air dryer
Due to the criticality of the project it was essential that the air compressor supply 100% oil-free air, has a small footprint and is easy to move around in a congested work site.
Our PTS 800 was the perfect candidate, and when paired with a PHS 1000 cfm desiccant dryer: the result was the ideal match!
The set up included 20 x PTS 800 medium pressure mobile diesel-driven oil-free air compressors which provided the optimal solution when it comes for large volumes of air blowing. We also provided heatless desiccant dryers PHS 1000 along with all necessary accessories to reach the required dew point.

We not only provided 100% oil-free compressors capable of working within a limited space but also the support required to keep the project running 24/7. All required accessories such as receiver tanks, manifolds, hoses, as well as certifications also formed part of the deal.

As a result our customer could increase the refinery's uptime, avoid contamination and assure trouble-free operation besides reducing the operating cost.
